A vacation is supposed to be a fun time to spend with your family. However, things can go drastically wrong if your child is injured or gets lost. In part one of our two-part series, we explore three ways to keep your child safe with a nanny.
1. Hire a nanny
Presumably, there's going to be so much going on while you're on vacation, it may be tough to watch your kids every second of the day. Having a nanny with you is like having a second or third set of eyes. Not only will she watch your children while you're browsing through shops, but also while you and your significant other are out for dinner. That means you can also have some time alone together knowing your kids are safe
2. Teach your kids survival skills
Tell them not to talk to strangers and what to do if someone they don't know approaches them. Ensure they understand that saying "no" is acceptable when they don't feel comfortable with something. Also, when you're at a theme park, make a rendezvous point with your children in case someone gets separated. Finally, if a nanny is not present, show your children what park officials look like so, if they do get lost, they know who they can trust.
3. Note where the medical facilities are
The heat and humidity can be severe in Disney World, if that's where you're going. Because of this, one of the first things you'll want to do when you get to each theme park is figure out where the medical facilities are. If a nanny is with you, this is something you can assign to her.
