House Manager/Family Assistant needed in Santa Monica, CA! (Starting Salary: $100K/annually + full-benefits)!

High profile family is looking for a house manager / family assistant for a very busy, but fun-loving family of five.

The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, cheerful, resourceful, highly flexible, and quick on their feet. Because they will be spending so much time with the family, the right personality fit is of the utmost importance. A can-do, get-it-done mentality and self-reliance are key traits. The family wants their Household Manager to enjoy spending time in their home and are looking for someone who will be proactive in anticipating needs and be able to manage their household according to the requirements below.

Duties include

House Administration

  • Will manage a weekly housekeeper who does deep cleaning (like vacuuming, mopping, toilets, beds, etc.) and will be responsible for the lighter daily tasks such as dishes, laundry, and general straightening of the home.
  • Vendor management – in addition to managing a housekeeper, this position will also manage lawn care, repairmen, evening babysitters, etc.
  • Pets – One small dog who needs water, food, walks, etc. on a regular schedule.
  • Will help manage furniture and design needs, cleaning, and upkeep to ensure a pristine home. 
  • Interview, hire, and manage household staff.

Life Administration

  • Children – The family has two amazing children (ages 5 and 2) and one arriving soon. The parents are active who want to spend as much time with their kids. However, sometimes the children need to be picked up from school at different times and/or go to different activities/places. The Household Manager must be comfortable with transporting the children to and from school or extra-curricular events. 
  • Errands – daily/weekly trips for grocery shopping, dry cleaning, post office, car wash, etc.
  • Meal planning and prep – will work with and manage chef to coordinate weekly menu. Will work with housekeeper to ensure healthy meals are packed for kids every day.
  • Mail management – will sort our mail, pay bills, and manage inbound and outbound communications.
  • Social support – Assistance when hosting dinners with the invitation, catering, rentals, and general coordination.
  • Gifts – will be provided with a list of the family’s birthdays, anniversaries, special occasions, etc. and will shop, wrap, and mail cards and gifts.
  • Act as a liaison between vendors, and manage purchase of and maintain documentation related to high-valued items
  • Holidays – will help decorate the house, wrap gifts, and put away decorations.


  • Take ownership of special projects when necessary
  • Learn the property, key vendors, and processes and manage all maintenance schedules, upgrades, and emergencies
  • Monitor and maintain home’s (food/sundries) stock levels and work with private chef to order essentials and necessities for events and lunches
  • Other projects/duties as assigned

Must have:

  • Your own vehicle (we will reimburse you for gas when you are running errands or transporting kids) and an impeccable driving record
  • Your own smartphone and system to keep track of Google calendars, reminders, and alarms to ensure timely task and calendar management
  • Apple/MacOS knowledge and experience (the company provides a MacBook) 
  • Demonstrated, successful household management, event coordination, and travel planning
  • Next-level organization and time management skills and the ability to follow through with all tasks in a timely manner and with full autonomy
  • Exceptional communication skills and judgment
  • Positive, professional attitude with consistently high-quality work 
  • Strong computer/technology acumen 
  • COVID-19 Vaccination (required)
