If you feel like you have too much on your plate, you're not alone. In a recent study by Citi and LinkedIn titled "Today's Professional Woman Report," a lot of women think that they can't "have it all," compared to their male counterparts who believe this goal is attainable.
More and more women are feeling overwhelmed in their lives and think that achieving a work-life balance is simply impossible.
"I haven't met a woman in my life who hasn't taken on an exponential amount of roles – far more than is good for any one person. From wife to professional to cook to chauffeur, women simply do not know how to say no, even when they want to," states Dr. Jaime Kulaga, a practicing therapist, life coach and author of "Type 'S'uperWoman – Finding the LIFE in Work-Life Balance: A Self-Searching Book for Women."
How can you "have it all," you ask? For starters, you can outsource some of your daily responsibilities, especially around the holidays. As if your days aren't already busy, just add in shopping for Christmas presents, attending your children's holiday concert and cooking for their class bake sale to the mix. A domestic service professional—such as a nanny, housekeeper or personal chef—can give you more free time in your life.
All in all, you have to figure out what is most important to you. If you don't want to miss your child's lead in the Christmas pageant, don't let your other responsibilities interfere. While you're watching your little star shine, a personal chef can have dinner on the table by the time your family gets home.
