Experienced full-time Senior Landscape Maintenance Gardener needed for private
estate in the Beverly Hills, CA! (Minimum of two years of experience with a clean background is a MUST!
The Senior Landscape Maintenance Gardener is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the appearance and health of landscaped grounds through expert horticultural and landscape maintenance practices. This position performs a variety of duties, including planting, pruning, mowing, irrigation, fertilization, weed control, and
seasonal landscape care. The role requires extensive knowledge of plant care, safe operation of landscape equipment, and a commitment to maintaining clean, attractive, and sustainable outdoor environments.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Landscape Maintenance Gardener will work with a team of gardeners and report
directly to the Landscape Maintenance Foreman. Typical tasks will include, but are not
limited to:
- Weeding, pruning, transplanting, watering, deadheading, mowing and maintain all outdoor areas. Plant and maintain ornamental trees, fruit trees, shrubs, flowers, and lawns.
- Safely apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other treatments to trees, shrubs, flowers, and lawns.
- Safely and effectively operate power equipment, including power mowers, edgers, string trimmers, chainsaws, rototillers, and Golf Carts or similar utility vehicle.
- Assist with minor pest management.
- General grounds upkeep, including blowing leaves and picking up trash.
- Assist with special events set-up and breakdowns, and perform other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications: - 2 years minimum Estate, Commercial, or Golf course experience
- High school diploma or GED required; certificate or degree in horticulture, landscape management, or a related field preferred.
- QAL, QAC, or ISA Certification a plus
- Extensive knowledge of plant identification and care, pruning techniques for trees, shrubs, and ornamentals, lawn management, and seasonal landscape maintenance practices.
- Knowledge in fertilization and integrated pest management (IPM) practices
- Knowledge of Irrigation systems, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Experience operating landscape equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, and aerators.
- Ability to work as a cooperative team member and support colleagues in a positive manner.
- Bilingual in English & Spanish preferred.
- Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Successful completion of a thorough background investigation and reference check.
Physical Requirements: - Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to stand, crawl, walk and stoop; push and pull objects up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to work for prolonged periods standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Physical stamina to climb and descend stairs and ladders safely.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors, in inclement weather and in fluctuating and
extreme temperatures. - Ability to use hand tools, brooms, rakes, shovels, saws, loppers, trimmers, backpack sprayers, backpack battery blowers.
- Experience using motorized equipment: walking behind power mowers, edgers, string trimmers, leaf blowers, power trimmers, chain saws, rototillers, power augers, sod cutter, walk-behind trencher, motorized herbicide sprayer, and other power tools.
- Ability to use hand trucks, dollies, wheelbarrows, carts, etc.
Schedule:
This is a non-exempt full-time position. Candidate must be flexible and willing to work weekends and potentially on Holidays. The schedule is generally 5 days a week (Monday-Friday).
