The Houseman is a highly experienced craftsman responsible for the maintenance and repair of the interior and exterior of the property using only the highest standards of care, safety, integrity, and workmanship. This role is also held accountable for effectively and economically managing the property’s grounds and its landscaping to uphold the elegance of the property. The Houseman works closely with the Estate Management team to ensure the property is always in working order and is proactively getting ahead of any potential maintenance challenges. This role consistently offers professional, friendly, and courteous service while going above and beyond to ensure the property is expertly maintained. This is a full-time position and is expected to tend to emergencies related to the property at any hour when necessary.
Compensation:
● Base hourly rate @ $50/hour and overtime @ $75/hour.

Schedule:
● 40 hours per week.
● Monday through Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm (need to be flexible for events on weekends).
Responsibilities:
● Proactive maintenance and hands-on repairs of the interior and exterior of the property with
excellent workmanship to include plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and smart
home/entertainment systems.
● Lead landscaping and grounds work through gardening, lawn care, horticulture, and related project
and contractor management.
● Oversee on-site vendors and subcontractors as well as renovation and construction projects on the
property.
● Accept and handle heavy deliveries with the highest safety standards.
● Responsibly adhere to a strict budget.
● Clean elevators, glass that has been designated, and all exterior planters.
● Keep brass architectural details polished (door handles, trims, brass floor details).
Requirements Include:
● Minimum 5 years of experience in a private estate and commitment to confidentiality
● Taking initiative and having the ability to manage your time effectively.
● Strong organizational, communication, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
● Keen attention to detail, positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.
● Can reliably work alone and as part of a team.
● Maintain an egoless, hands-on approach where no task is too big or too small with a dedication to
excellence.
● Willingness and ability to manage ad-hoc projects and tasks with short timelines.
● Experienced and deeply knowledgeable about all aspects of home repair beyond basic handyman
skills in all areas of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, appliance repair, drywall, painting, carpeting, wood
floors, tiling, brick and masonry, finish carpentry, welding, and roofing.
● Highly knowledgeable in all areas of landscape installation, excavation, drainage, watering
systems, plantings, and design.
● Understanding of technological systems and their maintenance within high-value estates.
