An experienced full-time houseman is needed for a private luxury estate in the Miami, FL area.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a culture of high standards and can easily adapt to changes in
routines. The family is looking for a collaborator with excellent people skills, a straightforward
communication style and the ability to reflect the family’s values when interacting with others.
The position requires an elevated level of organization, attention to detail, and well-developed
intuition. It also requires discretion, maturity, and overall good judgment.
The Houseman will assist in general maintenance tasks, performing basic repairs, and
overseeing cosmetic upkeep of indoor and outdoor spaces. Successful candidate will possess
the ability to complete a high volume of tasks and projects of various complexity and breadth,
have impeccable attention to detail, solid judgment, and will react with an appropriate level of
urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround. The Houseman is a
collaborative and hands-on position and works closely with others to anticipate and be
responsive to the family and their guest’s needs.

Primary Responsibilities:
The Houseman will report directly to the Estate Manager and collaborate closely with other
household staff. Typical tasks will include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain, repair, and/or coordinate maintenance with outsourced vendors and the
Facilities Manager. - Duties include maintenance and facilities tasks, consulting with vendors, and
preventative maintenance. - Assist with all exterior and interior furnishings, lights, water features, fireplaces, cooking
areas, and mechanical spaces. - Assist with client service, setting up areas for client use, including table setting and
decor, and working with the team to rearrange rooms. - Running errands.
- Other duties, special requests and projects as requested.
Qualifications: - Minimum five years houseman experience, preferably for larger high-end homes.
- Experience with data devices and communicating with smartphones.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Willingness to work occasionally weekends/evenings as needed.
- Professional in appearance and demeanor always.
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Successful completion of a thorough background investigation and reference check.
Schedule:
This is a non-exempt full-time position. Candidate must be flexible and willing to work weekends
and potentially on Holidays. Schedule is generally (5) days a week (Monday-Friday) while the
client and/or guests are not on-site. When clients are in the residence, hours will
increase/change as needed just before, during and after a client visit; long hours should be
expected during these times.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to work prolonged periods standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Physical stamina and must be able to climb and descend stairs and ladders safely.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors, in inclement weather and in fluctuating and extreme
temperatures.
