The Fairmont Chicago Hotel, in partnership with Millennium Park, will treat guests to a romantic picnic for a price starting from $600. The "Chef in the Park" series provides guests with a personal chef for the park's summer concerts.
This picnic is of the highest scale, since lawn chairs and coolers are replaced with luxurious table linens, fine china and cutlery.
"What the couple wants, we will deliver," said Fairmont's Executive Chef John Cordeaux in a statement. "We can pan fry foie gras, tempura lobster and soft shell crab, or plate your favorite cheese and prosciutto. "There is definitely demand to elevate style and quality. Rather than a ham and cheese wrapped in plastic, you want to have fun and make it sexy."
Customers have the opportunity to consult with a member of the Fairmont's executive culinary team, as well as the hotel's special event manager before planning the menu. Some of the options you can choose from include sushi, salads and antipasti, although the restaurant can be customized based on preferences and dietary restrictions. So far, four couples have signed up for the feast.
